Frequently Asked Questions
---
Q: What is the CustomCall feature and how does it work?
A: CustomCall is an optional feature. You do not have to use it. If you opt to use CustomCall, you would call an 800 number and record your own, short personal message that will be heard by the recipient after the celebrity greeting concludes. A $1.00 charge applies if you opt to use CustomCall. This feature is not available for international orders.
Q: What is the length of a Gold Medal Greeting?
A: Each greeting varies a bit. The approximate length of a Gold Medal Greeting is 30 seconds.
Q: Can I make a request for a greeting that is not listed on the Select a GMG Greeting menu?
A: Please contact customer service through the Contact Us link. If enough people make a request for a specific type of greeting, we will certainly consider adding new greetings in the future.
Q: Can a greeting be sent internationally?
A: Yes -- our service is worldwide in scope. GMG International is available at a cost of $9.99 per greeting. The CustomCall feature is not applicable for international orders.
Q: How long in advance can Gold Medal Greetings be scheduled?
A: Gold Medal Greetings may be scheduled up to 12 months in advance.
Q: Are the celebrity greetings recorded or live?
A: The greetings are recorded.
Q: What happens if the intended recipient does not receive their greeting?
A: Our system allows us to verify the receipt of all greetings. We will of course issue a refund or credit if GMG is at fault. Please see GMG's Policy section for specific details.
Q: What happens if the recipient doesn't answer the phone when a Gold Medal Greeting is placed?
A: The greeting (including CustomCall) will be left in the recipient's voicemail box or on their home answering machine.
Q: What happens if the recipient is on another call when the Gold Medal Greeting is received?
A: If the recipient is on another call and does not switch over to GMG using call waiting, the greeting will be left in their voicemail box or on their home answering machine.
Q: How does the Gold Medal Greetings charity program work?
A: As noted in several places on our site, each celebrity has selected a charity affilation. A portion from every greeting ordered, goes to the charity designated by that celebrity.
